Experience vs. qualifications – which is more important?

When looking to hire an individual into an entry level role into your business, which quality do you plump for, experience or qualifications?

In an ideal world you would obviously want a mixture of the two; someone who has experience in the role or industry you are recruiting for, backed up with some meaty qualifications to illustrate they also bring with them a decent level of intelligence.

But unfortunately, when recruiting for an entry level position, you won’t have the luxury of being in a position to tick both boxes.
