How to get your job application noticed

Remember the days when you would have to wait for Thursday's regional paper to check to see if there were any jobs you could send your CV to?

Perhaps some of you are too young to remember the days before Job Boards and Social Media became the main route to the job market.' But going back, probably only around 20 years, to apply for a job you had to write a letter and print off your CV before popping it all in the post.

The internet has since created a globalised market place, meaning that not can companies reach a far wider audience with every vacancy; it also means that applying for jobs online has become ridiculously easy.' Too many candidates scattergun their CV at any positions that are remotely relevant, not really giving much thought to whether their background or job skills are an ideal fit for that job.

The reality is that although online job applications have now become easier to complete, candidates should take as much due care and attention as they would filling in an application the old-fashioned way.

Therefore it is imperative that you do everything you can to ensure that your job application gets noticed above the competition.

To help guide you through this, we have put together a short video which will demonstrate how you can gain an edge over the competition.

Join Mark and Charles from Response as they talk you through what's happening in the candidate market right now, what criteria you should be selecting when applying for jobs and how to get your application to stand out from the crowd.
